Dr Michael Gray is an educator, school leader and writer based in Herefordshire. He is Headmaster of Hereford Cathedral School and has spent his career working in education, leadership and public service.

Alongside his work in education, Michael writes and speaks about education policy, opportunity, communities and the future of Britain. His articles and commentary have appeared in national publications and online platforms.

This website brings together his ideas, writing, public work and reflections on the issues that matter to him: education, opportunity, strong communities and Britain's future.

“

A life in education. A passion for public service. A belief in Britain.

I have spent my career working with young people and leading schools, convinced that education can transform lives and give every child the opportunity to fulfil their potential.

That experience has also given me a close-up view of the pressures facing families and communities, and a growing conviction that many of the challenges we face cannot be solved by schools alone.

I want to use what I have learned - in education, leadership and public life - to help build a country in which people have the opportunity to flourish, where families and communities are strong, and where we can have confidence in Britain’s future.

Serving others. Strengthening communities. Building a better future.
